The Moot Court Organization is the newest pre-law organization to be established at the University of Central Florida. Though we've had competing teams since 2011, starting with the Moot Court class, it was not until 2013 that we became an officially recognized student organization.

 

Although we haven't been around for long, the Moot Court Organization has already achieved substantial success. Under the tutelage of our head coach and program advisor, Dr. Cynthia Schmidt, the first Moot Court class was able to send two teams to nationals with one of which making it to the second day of competition. In the last year we've been able to expand to registered student organization status and create a travel team. We had two teams rank as quarter-finalists in two separate regional tournaments; the South Atlantic Regional and the Midwest Regional. Ultimately, three teams were sent to the national competition with one of which advancing to the second day.

 

The Moot Court Organization is continuing to develop every day. We hope to send as many teams as we can to nationals next season and even expand out of solely competing.
